Two Dead in Rhode Island Youth Hockey Shooting

(MENAFN) A tragic incident unfolded Monday at a boys’ hockey game in Rhode Island, where a shooter opened fire at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket. Two people were killed, and three others were hospitalized in critical condition.

Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves said the attack appeared to be targeted, stemming from a family dispute. The suspect, identified as Robert Dorgan—also known as Roberta Esposito and born in 1969—died from what authorities believe was a self-inflicted gunshot.

According to reports, at least 14 shots were fired during the incident. Video from the game’s live stream showed players and spectators ducking and fleeing in panic as the shooting occurred.
